The painted house!

It seems like we have been waiting for this stage in our build forever..... oh wait - It has been 2 years since we bought the block, so that's nearly forever, right?

Today the painters finished painting our house (except for a few touch ups that they come back to do closer to handover).

The render, front door, fretwork, finials, etc. have all been painted!

The kitchen - I have to query the bulkhead, not sure that that is supposed to be the same colour as the walls, I thought it would be ceiling white.
Also the power point for the fridge has been put in the wrong spot... you would think anyone with a bit of sense would see it was supposed to be in the fridge cavity.

Today we got an email from the office.
(I think it is our first ever progress report from them, that I haven't had to ring to find out about!)

Tomorrow the tilers will be starting!! Woohoo, about time things started happening quickly!

feature tiles in the ensuite - you can't really see it, but the raised ones are gold and sparkly.

We have been told that it usually takes 6 - 8 weeks once the tilers have finished. Since it is only 4 weeks to Christmas, it is highly unlikely we will be in before then. However after the 22nd of December the builders are required to pay us a weekly sum for taking to long. So just maybe they will try really hard to finish on time. If they don't finish before Christmas, hopefully it will be not to long after their holidays.

  1. Ah Rachel, It's all staring to come together now (apart from the fridge socket). You never, know the tradies might work through the break anyway.

Just make sure if your bank requires an inspection to book it with the bank yourself (if they can be there when you do your inspection that would be great).

Not sure if you noticed, but you are allowed one walk-through with your SS per stage... if you haven't had one yet, you can always schedule one now.

I got to read the rant post before you removed it (and my rather long reply)... let's just say I agree with pretty much all that you said.

    All the best
